On Sunday, October 2nd we descended on Southwood Skatepark for Calgary’s first edition of Skateletics, a celebration of skateboarding’s athleticism. The sun shone on us for the mongo race, hippie jump race, skate golf, and scooter toss.

Every competitor’s score from each event counted towards their final total. In the end, Chad Baker was victorious, followed by Walter Caleb Nicholls. Kevin Low and Lucas Ewart tied for third place. View photos from the event in the gallery below. Start training for next year!

Thanks to Timebomb Trading for making this event possible.

Skate Team Update: Jesus Trujillo

Columbian transplant Jesus Trujillo has been taking Calgary skateboarding by storm! In the few short months this Source team rider has lived in our city, he’s banged out many NBDs. One of his most notable clips is his HUGE 360 flip tail grab from Millennium Park. This trick is up for Street League’s Trick of the Year. Help keep Jesus at the top of the leaderboard by voting for him!

Source Skatepark Summer

You’re probably enjoying some of Calgary’s new skateparks this year. Along with our old friend, Millennium Park, the new parks have been really poppin’ off.

Our skate ambassador has been hooking up goodies all summer long. Holler at him if you see him– he’ll have a bag of stuff to give away! Enjoy the pics from the last few sessions at Southwood, Huntington, and Millennium:

Summer 2016 Skatepark Opening Hype

The Source skate team has been lighting summer 2016 on fire! With recent demos in Calgary at the Southwood skatepark grand opening and at the new skatepark in Vulcan, the squad is making the most of the great weather.

Last month the crew cruised to Vulcan, Alberta to help christen the town’s new skatepark. In attendance were: Tom Nelner, Sean Heather, Tom Mok, Dan Kneeshaw, Dylan Dillz, Branden Wren, Brett Krasman, and Caleb Banman.

A few hundred locals watched the team lay a beating on the park Dillz was up to his crazy tech stuff and Tom N was ultra-consistent. Dan cruised around with authority landing long grinds and burly noseblunts. The Vulcan folks were stoked on the demo and, of course, the product toss. We hope to go back for another demo there—the park is great!

We were invited by the Southwood Community Association to skate a demo at the grand opening of their new park. The park is so good! Everyone killed it, of course—Riley Boland did the “official” ribbon cutting. Check the footage below.
